The Mississippi River Delta is a vast nutrient rich and marshy haven providing anglers with world class inshore fishing. The bays and backwaters that surround Venice are the perfect bait filled habitat for all inshore species. These species include but are not limited to redfish, speckled trout, flounder, bass, freshwater catfish and tarpon. From sight-fishing to live bait, the Mississippi River Delta is the fishing destination that every angler must visit for that inshore trip of a lifetime.
The most popular inshore and near-coastal fish species is redfish. From 15 to 20 lb. monsters to the smaller, eating size 15 to 20 inchers, the delta supports an abundant redfish population. All months are excellent to fish inshore. The inlets, bays, and ponds that we fish are often calm and are protected, allowing your day on the water to be comfortable and enjoyable.
While inland fishing the Delta, trout, redfish and flounder are plentiful and available throughout the entire year. Peak trout fishing takes place in May, lasting through October. The best time for trout fishing usually begins in May and lasts through October. Redfish are the biggest draw, and peak fishing occurs late summer through early fall. Flounder meanwhile is best in October and November.
